Party time

In the lab, we have a pretty good turnover of personnel. Students graduate, techs find jobs with better pay, postdocs move on to bigger and better things. Usually it’s only 1-2 people a year who leave. But this year is WAY different… 2 of the girls are leaving within 2 weeks of each other, and more are leaving over the next few months. Last Saturday, we had everybody over to the house to celebrate with Maria and Teuta one last time. Maria will still be around, just working at Baptist, and Teuta and her husband are going back to Croatia. We only teared up once…

We’re all going to miss these girls, but the friendships we have formed go beyond just working together and sharing office space. I wish them all the best in the world!!

I'm still here!

I haven't taken a single picture in over a month. I even had 10 people at my house on Saturday night, and I didn't even pull out my camera. I'm slacking on the whole blog thing!! But here's a quick rundown on what we've been doing (like it's changed any in the past year...): working on the house, working on the Belhaven house, and working in general.
